Getting started
What is Manage Associations?
Manage Associations is governance software for Australian not-for-profits and incorporated associations. It brings membership, committees, meetings, minutes, elections and compliance together in one place so your committee can run good governance with less administration.
How do I sign in?
Your account and sign-in are provided by Manage Events. When you go to your organisation's Manage Associations address you'll be sent to the Manage Events sign-in screen, and after signing in you'll land back on your dashboard.
Do I need a Manage Events account?
Yes — identity and accounts are owned by Manage Events. If you don't have an account yet you can create one as part of signing up, and your organisation administrator can invite you.
Meetings & minutes
Can I build agendas and circulate meeting packs?
Yes. You can build agendas (including from reusable templates), attach documents, and distribute a meeting pack to attendees by email.
How do minutes work?
You can record minutes against each agenda item, capture motions, movers and seconders, votes, resolutions and actions, and then approve and distribute the minutes. Approved minutes are kept with a version history.
Are the AI-drafted minutes accurate?
AI-assisted features produce a draft only. Any draft generated from a meeting transcript must be reviewed and edited by a person before it is adopted or published — your organisation remains responsible for the accuracy of its minutes.
Membership
Can members be people or businesses?
Yes. Memberships can be held by a person or a business, organised by the membership categories you define, with applications, renewals and status tracked over time.
What is a financial member?
A financial member is one whose dues are up to date according to your organisation's rules. This status can be used to gate voting eligibility at meetings. It is derived from payment information and your configuration, so you should confirm it against your own records where it matters.
Governance & compliance
Does Manage Associations keep me compliant?
It helps. The governance calendar, derived due-dates and reminders are aids to help you stay on top of obligations — they are not a guarantee of compliance. Derived dates are only as accurate as the information you enter, and you remain responsible for meeting your obligations under your constitution and the law.
Is the constitution tooling legal advice?
No. The constitution tooling and any compliance review provide general information only and are not legal advice. Have your constitution reviewed by a qualified legal practitioner before you adopt or lodge it.
Can I record conflicts of interest?
Yes. You can maintain a register of interests and a related-party transactions register, and record interest declarations made during meetings. Sensitive details are encrypted at rest.
Account & billing
How is Manage Associations billed?
Your subscription is provided and billed through Manage Events. You manage upgrades, downgrades, renewals and cancellations there rather than within Manage Associations.
What happens if our subscription lapses?
You may find new changes are restricted (for example adding members or editing settings) until the subscription is restored. Your existing records remain in place.
How is my data protected?
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypting certain sensitive fields at rest. See our Privacy Policy for detail. Your organisation is responsible for its own privacy obligations to its members and officers.
